Calling yourself a writer

Date: Friday, 17 June 2011 01:29 am (UTC)
I relate so much with your hesitance. I've never been comfortable calling myself a writer, and I still am not, even though I've made moderate amounts of money selling fiction. I guess my personal bugbear is that it's easy to call yourself a writer, but while you're doing that, and telling all your friends how much of a writer you are, etc, etc...you're not writing. Actions over words. And so although, yes, I am a writer...I never introduce myself as such. Don't know why I have this mild phobia; maybe I've met too many writers who annoyed. ;-)
